When the leaves start to turn in Huntersville, the town steadily moves from crisp fall weekends into bright holiday nights. Our community loves the transition into fall and winter, and this year’s lineup of events, dining specials, and live music makes it the perfect season to get out and connect.
Birkdale Village is bringing back its ice skating rink for the second year, and we can’t wait to hit the ice with you! Skaters are encouraged to book reservations in advance to secure their preferred time slot. Walk-ups are welcome, but availability is not guaranteed. Tickets will be available soon and include a 75-minute skating session. The rink will be open from November 22 through January 11.
Enjoy the most important meal of the day with the most important man of the season! Birkdale has a scheduled Breakfast with Santa on the 6th of December, and tickets go on sale this coming November 7. Bring your family to join jolly old Saint Nick and his cheerful elves for a delicious breakfast! Red Rocks Cafe will host Breakfast with Santa and will provide a buffet-style breakfast.
The town’s holiday weekend programming (tree lighting, family activities, performances) is scheduled in early December; last-season listings show tree lighting between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. on the kickoff night. Expect similar timing and watch the town calendar for the confirmed date.
Latta Nature Preserve / Quest Nature Center offers guided hikes, family programs, and special seasonal experiences. Many guided hikes start mid-morning (meet-ups and naturalist-led hikes often begin around 9:00 a.m.). Check the Quest/Latta calendar for topic-specific walks, raptor encounters, and holiday-themed nature programs.
